The beginning
YouTube has become a powerful platform all over the world. Every day, millions of videos are uploaded on different topics, including sports and fitness. Many bloggers share their knowledge, personal stories, and workout routines in order to grow their audience and inspire more people.
The popularity of YouTube fitness channels increased significantly in 2019 when the COVID pandemic began. A huge number of people stayed at home and started using YouTube as one of the main platforms for entertainment, learning, and self-improvement. That was also the year my personal YouTube workout journey began.
Like many others, I spent most of my time at home during quarantine. It quickly became boring and stressful, so I decided to start exercising with YouTube workout videos. Back then, there were not as many high-quality fitness channels as there are today because many creators were only starting to develop their content. Still, I managed to find several channels that truly helped me get through that difficult period.
So let me share them.
- 22x22 (https://www.youtube.com/@22X22)

This was the first channel I regularly followed between 2019 and 2021. I really liked this duo of trainers. Their videos were simple but effective, and the workouts were well-structured.
They offered training sessions from 10 to 40 minutes with clear explanations and good pacing. I followed their workouts about three times per week, and I was really happy because I could see visible changes in my body and energy levels.
2. Alex Su (https://www.youtube.com/@AlexSu_trainer)

This was my second favorite channel in 2019. It is created by a certified fitness trainer who focuses more on technique, breathing, and proper movement.
Her workouts are very detailed and educational. I really liked her short routines and useful fitness life hacks (for example, quick 5-exercise full-body sessions). From what I know, her content now is more focused on pregnancy and lifestyle, but you can still find many helpful workout videos for beginners and women’s health. Definitely worth checking out.
3. Pamela Reif (https://www.youtube.com/@PamelaRf1)

If you are looking for short but very effective workouts, then this channel is a must.
I started following it in 2022 while I was in Switzerland. At that time, I was trying to improve my fitness because I had issues with my shoulder and weight due to stress and hormonal changes.
Her workouts are intense but efficient. Even a short session feels powerful. I remember doing one of her long workouts, and I honestly thought I wouldn’t survive it — but I felt amazing after finishing it.
4. growingannanas (https://www.youtube.com/@growingannanas)

This is one of my favorite fitness channels.
Recently, I challenged myself to do 20–30 minute workouts every second day, mostly using videos from this channel. And I can say this: it is hard, but very effective.
I was burning around 150+ calories per session, and I felt muscle soreness almost every day. But at the same time, I noticed real progress in strength, endurance, and overall body tone.
Final thoughts
After five years of trying different YouTube workout channels, I realized something important: there is no “perfect” workout channel that works for everyone.
Some channels are great for beginners, some are better for technique, and others are extremely intense and challenge your limits. The real key is consistency, not the channel itself.
YouTube fitness helped me stay active during difficult periods of my life, especially when I had no motivation or access to gyms. But I also learned that results come only when you keep going, even when it’s hard or boring.
So if you are just starting your fitness journey, don’t overthink it. Pick one channel, start moving, and stay consistent. The rest will come with time.
